August 2 - The world’s three fastest men will meet in Stockholm this week for the first time since last summer’s IAAF World Championships in Berlin.

Usain Bolt has confirmed his participation in the 100 metres at the DN Galan Samsung Diamond League meeting on Friday (August 6), joining a field which already includes the world silver and bronze medallists, respectively Tyson Gay and Asafa Powell.

Before winning the 200 metres in last week’s Herculis Diamond League meeting in Monte Carlo, Gay hinted that he would meet the two Jamaicans in Stockholm, and that is now official.

"It is a great pleasure to confirm and host this exciting race," said Meeting Director Rajne Söderberg.

"It will strengthen DN Galan's positioning within the world of sports."

Earlier this year it was announced that the trio would also meet over 100m at the Samsung Diamond League meeting in Brussels on August 27.

Their last meeting saw Bolt lower his own 100m world record in the German capital, clocking 9.58, with Gay second in 9.71, then a US record, with Powell, the former world record holder, taking the bronze.

"Gay later improved his United States record to 9.69, while Powell’s personal best is 9.72.
