ERDF, Annecy Leman sector, manages the electrical distribution for all of the Haute-Savoie and neighboring regions.

Performance and sustainable development are important characteristics of ERDF’s actions and correspond to Annecy 2018’s ambition for a positive global footprint and environmental excellence, officials claimed.

As an example, ERDF is very involved in the development of renewable energies and works on programmes to innovate in terms of energy efficiency and reducing energy consumption.

"By bringing ERDF Annecy Leman into the marketing program, Annecy 2018 shows that large French companies and the economic world back this national project," said Christian Monteil, the chairman of the Annecy 2018 Supervisory Board.

Edgar Grospiron, the chief executive of Annecy 2018, was naturally delighted with the partnership.



"This support is important for the bid as it shows that through the passion of the regional population, Annecy 2018 is the candidate for all of France in the organisation of the 2018 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games," he said.

Jean-Pierre Vidal, the chairman of the Annecy 2018 sustainable development advisory group and the Olympic Slalom champion at the 2002 Salt Lake City Games, also hailed the partnership.

"This signature is a strong point for our positive footprint concept in the region," he said.

"This company’s approach is similar to our bid and the development of renewable energy in our resorts and our region."
