January 3 - Britain’s three leading ladies, including world heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis (pictured), will compete at the Aviva Grand Prix in Birmingham on February 20, it was announced today.

Ennis will be joined by World Championship 1500 metres silver medallist Lisa Dobriskey and 800m bronze medallist Jenny Meadows at the National Indoor Arena.

All three hope their outstanding form from 2009 will continue throughout the indoor season, inlcuding the World Indoor Championships in Doha.

Ennis will compete in the 60m hurdles and high jump at the National Indoor Arena.

She said: “I had a fantastic year in 2009 but now my focus is on the coming season and trying to win the World Indoors.

"The Aviva Grand Prix is always a great event to be part of as the competition is world-class and the crowd in Birmingham are really into their athletics and a huge support. It will be nice for myself, Lisa and Jenny to run in front of a British crowd.”

Dobriskey said: "The Aviva Grand Prix is a world-class event and always an opportunity to test yourself against some world-class athletes which is great competition for us but also exciting for the crowd to see."

Already confirmed for the Aviva Grand Prix are respective former and current Olympic Champions, Christian Olsson and Kenenisa Bekele.

However, Meadows believes the home crowd will enjoy watching their British World Championship medallists just as much.

She said: "It's great that Jess, Lisa and I have this opportunity to race in front of our crowd, especially after our success in Berlin.

"I’m really excited about this season and I can’t wait to get out there and just race.

"Everything has gone well in my training and I’m just excited to see what I can do out there on the track.

"I hope to do well at the Aviva Grand Prix as last year Marilyn [Okoro] beat me."
