Sir John_Armitt_July_7_July 10 - Chairman of the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA), Sir John Armitt will be one of the guest speakers at the latest Major Events International (MEI) briefing, Life after London – Brazil, to be held in the capital tomorrow.

Sir John (pictured) and other speakers at the event will discuss and share lessons learnt from London 2012 preparations and consider future major events markets with a particular focus on Brazil, which is hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2014 and the 2016 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Attendees at the briefing will hear first-hand how to help ensure successful delivery when entering new major events markets, drawing on lessons from the past.

MEI founder Dennis Mills said: "The summer of 2012 has already proved to be spectacular with the UEFA Euro 2012 tournament surpassing expectations and showing that new markets can make a significant contribution to the sports events landscape.

"The world is hugely excited about London 2012 but already a wide range of businesses are planning ahead to the World Cup and the next Olympic Games in Brazil."

The briefing, sponsored by Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions and International SOS, will be held at Canning House, 2 Belgrave Square, London from 2pm until 6pm.

There are a limited number of tickets still available for the event, which is free for members of MEI's business network and £50 plus ($78/€63) VAT for guests.
