London 2012_Hockey_Centre_general_view_May_2012June 15 - London 2012 today launched the opportunity for people to sell unwanted tickets for the Olympics and also put on more on sale for a number of events in the Olympic Park, including hockey.

Approximately 50,000 tickets are on sale now that the hockey competition draws are complete and further venue seating plans have been finalised.

A total of 25,000 hockey tickets and a limited number of tickets for diving, handball, modern pentathlon, water polo and basketball are on sale.

In addition, tickets for the Orbit are also on sale.

Tickets that people want to resell on the new platform will not be made available immediately for resale, but will be validated and released for sale in June on a sport by sport basis.

If sold, the customer will be notified by email, then refunded within 10 working days of the ticket being sold, subject to London 2012 receiving the original tickets back.

If the ticket remains unsold it will be returned to the customer's account.

"This release of tickets gives people a great chance to attend sport in the popular Olympic Park venues," said Chris Townsend, the commercial director of London 2012.

"Tickets for further events will follow in due course and we will inform our ticketing database directly.

"For those people who are no longer able to attend, or cannot give their tickets to friends or family, they can now use our resale platform.

"This will enable people to resell their tickets in a safe and legal way."
