It was hosts Morocco who proved the most successful nation at the event as they qualified seven boxers from the event, more than any other nation.

Algeria were next on the list as they qualified six fighters for the Olympics with Egypt securing fiver spots, Cameroon and Ghana taking four Olympic places each and Tunisia taking three berths at the ExCeL.

Gabon, Mauritius, Namibia, Nigeria and South Africa each booked two spots for the boxing competition at London 2012 while Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Seychelles, Tanzania and Zambia all took one place each at the Games in Morocco.

At lightweight flyweight (46-49kg) Mohamed Flissi of Algeria, Abdelali Daraa of Morocco, Thomas Essomba of Cameroon (pictured above in red), Juliano Fernando Gento Maquina of Mozambique, Tetteh Sulemanu of Ghana and Ramy Helmy Mohamed Ibrahim Elawady of Egypt have qualified.

At flyweight (52kg) Oteng Oteng of Botswana (pictured below second from right), Benson Gicharu Njangiru of Kenya, Samir Brahimi of Algeria, Duke Akueteh Micah of Ghana, Hesham Yehia Mahmoud Abdelaal of Egypt and Jason Olliver Lavigilante of Mauritius have booked their Olympic spot.


Morocco's Aboubakr Seddik Lbida, Ghana's Isaac Zion Kojo Dogboe, Gabon's Braexir Romeo Lemboumba, South Africa's Ayabonga Sonjica and Namibia's Jonas Nghilandemwenyo Matheus have qualified at bantamweight (56kg) while at lightweight (60kg), Ahmed Mejeri from Tunisia, Abdelkader Chadi from Algeria, Andrique Allisop from Seychelles, Yhyacinthe Abdon from Cameroon, Mohamed Ramadan Mohamed Eliwa from Egypt and Shafiq Chitou from Benin have qualified.

Light welterweight (64kg) sees Abdelhak Aatakni from Morocco, Abderrazak Houya from Tunisia, Brice Romaric Bassole from Burkina Faso, Eslam Ahmed Aly Mohamed from Egypt, Louis Richarno Colin from Mauritius and Gilbert Choombe from Zambia at the Games.

At welterweight (69kg) Mehdi Khalsi from Morocco, Mohamed Diaby from Mali, Ilyas Abbadi from Algeria, Siphiwe Lusizi from South Africa, Selemani Salum Kidunda from Tanzania and Yannick Audrey Mbemy from Gabon will go to the Olympics.

At middleweight (75kg) Badr-Eddine Haddioui from Morocco, Mujandjae Kasuto from Namibia, Muideen Olalekan Akanji from Nigeria, Abdelmalek Rahou from Algeria and Mohamed Abdelmawgoud Abouelfetouh Hikal from Egypt will compete at ExCeL where they will be joined by light heavyweights (81kg) Yahia Elmekachari from Tunisia, Ahmed Barki from Morocco, Christian Adjoufack from Cameroon and Lukmon Olaiwola Lawal from Nigeria.

Completing the 48 African boxers that qualified for London 2012 at the event are heavyweights (91kg) Chouaib Bouloudinat from Algeria and Maxwell Amponsah from Ghana as well as super heavyweights (+91kg) Mohammed Arjaoui from Morocco and Blaise Mendouo from Cameroon.
