deltatreMay 5 - Spanish television viewers of the London 2012 Games will have real-time access to every medal event thanks to a partnership announced between Radio Televisión Española (RTVE) and digital media sport specialist deltatre.


The agreement, which will see deltatre providing mobile and web expertise to RTVE.es – the digital service of Radio Televisión Española, the Spanish public broadcasting company – will offer viewers access to thousands of hours of live Olympic sporting competitions online and through mobile devices in high definition.

Viewers will also be able to interact with real-time data on PC and mobile devices.

Ricardo Villa, Director of RTVE.es, said: "We are offering the Spanish audience the best web and mobile Olympic experience, far greater than ever before.

"At RTVE.es we are aware that fans expect to be able to access content from anywhere via any digital device.

"And the London 2012 Olympic Games will set a milestone in the way people enjoy sports content in multiple devices."

RTVE.es will be able to offer its viewers more than the traditional live video streaming – the additional features will include picture-in-picture, quad view and timeline navigation both live and on-demand.

The services also provide real-time data timelines and mobile overlays to help the consumer easily navigate throughout all the content.

The video content will be hosted on Microsoft's Windows Azure Media Services.
