Eurostar_trains_under_Olympic_rings_at_St_PancrasSeptember 25 - Eurostar has appointed Havas Sports & Entertainment to support its Tier Three sponsorship of the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, it has been announced.


The overall brief for Eurostar, which is the official international rail services provider of the Games, includes creative public relations campaign development and activation, including experiential events, for sponsorships that include London 2012.

The work is expected to lead to further activation of sponsorships work for other Eurostar-backed events.

"Over the coming year Eurostar will be creating a programme of events that bring together culture, sport and entertainment from right across Europe, and we look forward to helping it share its stories with the public," said Lucien Boyer, the global chief executive and President of Havas. 

Havas' team will be led by Fredda Hurwitz, its vice-president for strategic planning, marketing and communications, and will involve its offices across Europe, including Britain, France, the Netherlands and Belgium.

Havas been involved in working in the Olympics for several years, including representing Paris when it went head-to-head with London for the 2012 Games.

"We feel they are a great fit for us and look forward to working with them during what will be an exciting year for sport and culture," said Nina Ferrier, head of sponsorship at Eurostar. 

"Havas Sports & Entertainment combine creative thinking with an in-depth understanding of sport and its audiences."
