The highlight of the day's celebrations on the BBC will see Sophie Raworth, Jake Humphrey and Mishal Husain presenting a one-off programme on BBC One between 7-7.30pm live from the Trafalgar Square event and from the Aquatics Centre in the Olympic Park.

The Trafalgar Square event marks the final countdown to one of the biggest events in the world and International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Jacques Rogge will be there in person to invite athletes from around the world to put together their national teams in readiness for next year's Games.

Rogge will be joined in Trafalgar Square by Mayor of London Boris Johnson, London 2012 chairman Sebastian Coe and a host of Britain's top Olympic athletes and overseas dignitaries as the new design for the 2012 Games medals will be unveiled while live music performances take place at the iconic location.

Before the ceremony in Trafalgar Square, presenter Husain will be live from the Aquatics Centre with world 10 metre diving champion and Olympic gold medal hopeful Tom Daley who will perform the official launch dive in to the Olympic Pool in an event broadcast live on BBC Radio 5 live and globally on BBC World News.

BBC Breakfast, which takes place on BBC One between 6am-9.15am, will be live from the Olympic Park in Stratford talking to the IOC, athletes, organisers and volunteers who will be at the heart of the action in a year's time.

After this, Shelagh Fogarty will present her 5 Live lunchtime programme from 12-2pm from the Aquatics Centre in the Olympic Park where she will be one of the first people to swim in the Olympic Pool.

BBC London will be asking "How ready is London?" as they look at transport, ticketing and policing issues, and give a special report on East London with local residents' views on the Games.

Following the conclusion of the Trafalgar Square Ceremony at 7:30pm, Eleanor Oldroyd will present a special One Year To Go edition of 5 Live Sport titled London Calling from 7.30pm with special guests and Olympic hopefuls.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday July 26, the day before the one year to go milestone, 5 Live's Tony Livesey will be live in Much Wenlock in Shropshire from 10.30pm-1am as it is the hometown of Victorian doctor William Brookes, one of the founding fathers of the modern Olympic Games.

BBC World Service and BBC World News television will be marking this milestone with a special range of content for audiences around the world, which will include the launch of new programming that looks back at key moments from the history of the Games.

BBC World News will also launch a new monthly weekend strand with news and features tracking the performances of competitors and nations in the final 12 months ahead of the Olympic Games.

BBC Arabic TV and BBC Persian TV as well as BBC Chinese and BBC Africa - which offers multilingual content to audiences across the continent - will all be broadcasting live from the Aquatics Centre, while BBC Brazil, the Spanish-language service, BBC Mundo, BBC Russian and BBC Ukrainian will bring their online audiences reports from the event.

In addition, the BBC Turkish coverage of the event at the Aquatics Centre will be included in its daily TV programme, Dunya Gundemi.
