Shooting_ISSFMay 23 - More than 600 athletes competed at the third International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) Rifle and Pistol World Cup stage of the year in Fort Benning, United States, with China finishing top of the standings with a total of seven medals.


ISSF Technical Delegate Carlos Silva Monterroso said the Championship was a "complete success, both in terms of participation and results.

Germany finished behind China with four medals, whilst the US and France tied in third place with two medals apiece.

A total of 24 Olympic Quota places for next summer's Games in London were awarded, with Germany and India taking three each.

Austria and Russia also claimed a pair of quota places each, and their shooters will join 366 other competitors next summer.

The next stage of the series will be held in Munich at the 1972 Olympic Shooting Range, starting on June 16.
