Taekwondo_KPMGApril 19 - KPMG and GB Taekwondo have extended their partnership to the summer of 2012, which sees the professional services giant provide business services to the sport and its events programme, which includes the National Championships and the British Open.

Both of these events are hosted by Manchester in 2011, with the National Championship being held at the Velodrome on June 18-19, and the British Open taking place at the SportCity venue from October 1-2.

Before both of those events, GB Taekwondo will be competing at the World Taekwondo Championships in Gyeongju, South Korea, from May 1-6.

GB Taekwondo chairman Jeremy Beard said: "We are naturally delighted to continue what has been such a successful partnership with KPMG.

"They have been an integral part of our growth and success in recent times and have been working behind the scenes with GB Taekwondo for a number of years and on numerous projects, providing valuable expertise and resource thus enabling the team to get on with the business of winning medals.

"KPMG is also supportive of our efforts to attract new sponsors to GB Taekwondo, not least a title partner for our GB team and our events, for what is undoubtedly going to be an exciting time for the sport in the lead up to 2012."

KMPG partner Trevor Rees added: "KPMG is thrilled to be involved with such an exciting and dynamic team and at such a crucial time in their development.

"As well as doing our best to support the GB Taekwondo team collectively and individually in their preparations for events and championships, we as an organisation are keen to work with the communities in which we operate and integral to our partnership is the creation of links between the sport and local schools."
