The eighth Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship is in full swing, and amidst the fervour of competition, there is one area that has captured significant attention—the Fitness District. Situated just outside Mubadala Arena, the venue for the event, this fitness-themed tent has emerged as the go-to destination for fans, families, and athletes alike.

Since its opening on Friday, the Fitness District, organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, has attracted attendees with its diverse array of offerings. From high-intense sports and fitness activities to immersive cultural experiences and delicious foods, there is something to delight every visitor.

Among the many visitors at the District on Sunday were eight-year-old Michaela Morales and her little brother, Rafael Morales. Both were seen having a good time on the basketball court, competing against each other to see who could sink more shots.

“This place is amazing! I’m having a good time,” said Michaela, a Grade 2 student.

“I’m totally loving it. I want to hang around and spend more trying all the different activities,” said Rafael.

Visitors can also explore the rich tapestry of Emirati heritage including a henna stand, which showcases the beauty and tradition of henna artistry.The Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship, which brings together more than 1500 athletes from over 30 countries, will continue until Wednesday.
