USA and Brazil secure three Olympic berths in Taekwondo Pan-Am qualifiers. TAEKWONDO USA

The final continental qualifier for the Paris 2024 Taekwondo tournament took place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from 9-10 April.


The USA and Brazil each won three Olympic berths at the Pan American Qualifiers. Faith Dillon (USA) and Maria Clara Pacheco (Brazil) reached the finals in the women's -57 kg category. Jonathan Healy (USA) qualified for the Olympic Games in the men's +80 kg alongside Rafael Alba of Colombia. 

Kristina Teachout (USA) and Madelyn Rodriguez of the Dominican Republic were the best in the women's 67 kg category. Edival Pontes (Brazil) qualified with another Dominican, Bernardo Pie, in the men's -68 kg category.  Henrique Marques Rodrigues (Brazil) and Joaquin Churchill (Chile) will compete in the men's -80kg category at the Olympic Games.




Chile and Cuba also earned two Olympic berths Fernanda Aguirre (Chile) and Arlettys Acosta (Cuba) qualified in the women's +67 kg category.

Yohandri Granado (Venezuela) and Lucas Guzman (Argentina) qualified for Paris 2024 in the men's -58 kg category, while Josipa Kafadar (Canada) and Maria Grippoli (Uruguay) reached the final in the women's -49 kg category. 

Almost all weight categories have been completed after the last qualifying tournament. France still has to nominate two male athletes as host nation. 4 more quota places (two for men and two for women) will be decided by the Tripartite Commission in May 2024.
