Sarah Chaari, an 18-year-old taekwondo star from Belgium, has qualified for Paris 2024 in the women's 67kg category, fulfilling her biggest sporting dream.

"For me, the Olympic Games are an important moment because it's really the highest level of competition in taekwondo. So qualifying is already a very hard thing, and participating will be really incredible. It's what every taekwondo athlete hopes for, to train to qualify and win medals there," Chaari told AFP.

The 2022 World Champion in the 62 kg category and World N1 in the 67 kg category is also studying medicine at university. "It is difficult. After that I try to organise myself, to find times to study and train. I have been trying for some time now to have a fairly fixed schedule. It's working at the moment and I hope it will continue to work in the future," said the athlete.
