Leadership change at BCW Sports: Lars steps down, Corr new managing director. 'X' / BCW SPORTS

BCW Sports, the sports division of global communications agency BCW, will see a change in leadership as managing director Lars Haue-Pedersen steps down after more than 20 years. He will remain a key advisor to the business.

Lars Haue-Pedersen, who encouraged international sports leaders to use social media, co-founded TSE Consulting in 2002 and facilitated its integration into BCW in 2015. As Managing Director of BCW Sports, he led the company to prominence in global sports communications, supporting successful bids and international campaigns.

Jamie Corr will be based in Lausanne, Switzerland, from September as the new head of BCW Sports, which ranked Paris as one of the world's top cities for sport. He brings extensive experience in international sports marketing and communications from roles at the International Olympic Committee, GMR, Hill & Knowlton and MKTG Sports, which was named one of PR Week's top 5 sports agencies.

Looking back, Lars said: "It has been an incredibly exciting journey from a two-person start-up to now being part of one of the largest communications agencies in the world. With the arrival of Jamie Corr, I see many opportunities for the sports practice, particularly in advising and supporting brands' involvement in major events."

"I look forward to supporting Jamie and the team for the rest of the year and then spending more time with family and friends, while keeping a close eye on the success of Burson and our clients," he said. Scott Wilson, BCW CEO EMEA, stated: "Under Lars' leadership, BCW Sport has become a global centre of excellence within the BCW Group and one of the leading agencies in the world of sport.

"I would like to thank Lars for all the successes he has brought to BCW and his presence and leadership will be greatly missed by all. Looking ahead, I am delighted that we have been able to attract another experienced leader in the international sports industry in Jamie. His background, network and expertise will undoubtedly be an invaluable asset to existing and future clients.

On 25 January, WPP announced the merger of BCW and Hill & Knowlton to create Burson, a global communications agency offering comprehensive reputation management services.
