Nigeria Taekwondo Federation shifts focus to Paris 2024.

The President of the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation, Abdullahi Saidu, has hailed the performance of the athletes at the 13th African Games in Ghana. Nigerian taekwondo athletes won a total of 6 medals at the Games, including one gold, one silver and four bronze.

Saidu said the NTF has shifted its attention to the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games, reports ACLSports. "I am happy although our target was to get more gold medals, but it is a good performance. We were able to make it to the podium and it is a sign that we have a lot of opportunities to improve," Saidu said.

The only gold medal was won by Elizabeth Anyanacho (women -67kg), who will be Nigeria's only representative at the Paris 2024 Taekwondo tournament.

"After the African Games, the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation will focus on the Olympic Games. Nigeria has qualified one athlete and the best thing is to make plans for her, although her German coach has started some programmes to make strategic plans to prepare her. The Nigeria Taekwondo Federation wants to be on the podium at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games," Saidu added.
