The amateur rules MMA tournament plays out from Sunday 10 to Monday 12 March under the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA), joining 6 other demonstration sports among 30 total disciplines. 8 of these are holding qualifiers for this summer’s Paris 2024 Games. Showcasing national teams from Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte D`Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Libya, Nigeria, Sudan, Togo and Uganda at the Bukam Stadium in Accra, MMA put a stake in the ground for the sport and for Africa. Team Mauritius enters the tournament on Day 2. The preliminary bouts were staged on the first day of the competition. The semifinals will take place on the second.
