Faris Al-Assaf, head coach of the Jordanian national taekwondo team, is hoping to secure another Olympic qualification for Paris 2024. Zaid Kareem (men's -68kg), Saleh Al-Saharabaty (men's -80kg) and Julyana Al-Sadeq (women's -67kg) have already qualified directly for Paris 2024 through the rankings.

"We have achieved a great success by qualifying three athletes directly for the Olympic Games for the first time in Jordan's history, and with this number of qualifiers, Jordan is the first in Asia and the third in the world," Al Assaf told WinWin. "Thank God, Jordanian taekwondo has made its mark on the world map and international teams are now counting our team a thousand times".

As for Abu Al-Rab, Al-Assaf hopes she can join her teammates in Paris. "Rama is an ambitious athlete who has already qualified for the 2017 Junior Olympics and hopes to continue her journey with her teammates by qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics."

Abu Al-Rab recently won gold at the Arab Championships and bronze at the 2024 Fujairah Cup and President's Cup. "Rama has prepared well for the qualifiers and she is ranked 19th in the Olympics and fourth in the world in the U67kg," said Al Assaf.

On the preparations for Paris 2024, Al-Assaf concluded. "In May, Jordanian athletes who have qualified for the Olympic Games will participate in the Asian Championships in Vietnam and a camp in South Korea. During the final preparation plan before the Olympics, we are looking forward to facing several taekwondo schools so that our athletes are fully prepared".
