Crown Prince of Fujairah presents first ever Taekwondo Humanitarian Trophy. WORLD TAEKWONDO

The Crown Prince of Fujairah, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, was today presented with the first ever Taekwondo Humanitarian Trophy by World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choue during the Fujairah Open.

The Crown Prince was officially presented with the trophy at the World Taekwondo Gala Awards in December last year. The trophy was presented in Fujairah when President Choue attended the Fujairah Open with the World Taekwondo Demonstration Team to personally hand over the trophy. The ceremony, held at Al Rumailah Palace in Fujairah, was attended by WT Council members and MNA presidents. The Crown Prince is one of the largest contributors to the Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation (THF), having so far generously donated a total of $300,000 in three separate donations, in 2017, 2020 and 2022.  Explaining his reasons behind his donations to the THF, the Crown Prince said: "The growing number of refugees around the world is one of the greatest crises facing humanity today. I am making this donation because taekwondo is an inexpensive, easy-to-use tool that provides refugees with self-discipline, self-defence and self-confidence, thus effectively improving their lifestyle."

The THF relies on donations from a wide range of donors to fund its vital work in empowering refugees through taekwondo. In recent years, the THF has received donations from a variety of industries and sectors, from royalty and business to academia and of course, from within the taekwondo family itself.
