Budapest to host 2024 EJU Congress . EJU

The EJU's top executive - President László Toth, Senior Vice-President Otto Kneitinger, Vice-Presidents Sergei Aschwanden, Hrvoje Lindi, Secretary General Martin Poiger and General Treasurer Envic Galea - met in Budapest for a two-day Bureau meeting just in time for the start of the 2024 World and European Tour season.

During the meeting it was decided that the EJU Congress 2024 will be held in Budapest (probably in November - exact date to be decided). The EJU Executive Committee will meet for the first time this year as part of the European Veterans Championships in Zagreb at the end of April (25-28 April).

Streaming of the European Open and European Championships will be improved. The final block will be produced with multiple cameras to increase the attractiveness for all fans of JudoTV.com and to generate new interest from (potential) TV partners.

One of the topics will be the EJU Tour, which continues to grow: The programme now includes seven new Veterans, seven European Hopes Under-15 and three Kata tournaments, as well as six Adaptive Judo Get Together events. On average, the European Judo Union organises around 10 events per month and the trend is still upwards. The main objective is to better serve the various interest and age groups in order to guarantee quality improvements in the medium and long term.

The signs are favourable for a successful Olympic year. We look forward to the great challenges ahead," emphasised President László Tóth.
