Skip Johan Nygren's side earned their spot in the final early on the last day at Curl Aberdeen by beating defending champions Canada 7-4.

Spain ensured they would appear in their second final, after the first in 2018, as they crept past Norway 4-3 on the other side of the bracket.

However, once again they fell to defeat as the Swedes dominated them 8-2.

The two sides started evenly as they traded single points in the opening two ends.

In the third end, Sweden stole a single after Spanish skip Sergio Vez mistakenly knocked a guard on the way to the house with his final stone.

Vez was heavy handed again in the next period as he put too much power on the final stone.

It meant that his side missed the chance to score two and settled for the single point instead, putting the teams at 2-2 on the halfway point.

Sweden started the second half superbly with three points in the fifth end and then produced a stunning steal straight after.

They stole three points as Vez's last hit-and-roll attempt for multiple points fell flat.

With the turnover of the hammer, Spain conceded the game and settled for the silver medal.

Canada and Norway were level after four ends at 1-1 in the bronze medal-match.

After a score of one in the fifth end and a steal of one in the sixth, Norway were leading by two points.

Canada tied it up in seventh end to make it 3-3 before stealing a decisive fourth point in the last end.
