Hing Siong Chen and Patrick Liew have been re-elected to the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) Executive Committee at its Annual General Meeting (AGM), and are joined by Mark Chay.

The three officials have been elected for two-year terms running until 2025.

The AGM at Raffles Town Club came just over a month after the resignation of Tan Chuan-Jin as SNOC President, following reports of "unparliamentary language" and an "inappropriate relationship" which also led to him stepping down as Speaker of the Singapore Parliament.

Former senior vice-president Jessie Phua has taken over as Acting President and is set to complete Tan's term through to 2026.

The AGM featured biennial elections as national sports association representatives on the Executive Committee, and was attended by 136 delegates representing 36 ordinary members, five associate members and four provisional members.

Singapore Cycling Federation President Hing was elected to the SNOC Executive Committee in 2021 along with Singapore Gymnastics President Liew.

Chay was elected as Singapore Swimming Association President last year, and since then the city-state has replaced the Russian city of Kazan as host of the 2025 World Aquatics Championships.

He was also co-chair of the Organising Committee for the inaugural Olympic Esports Week in June in Singapore, and is on the World Aquatics Bureau.

Chay replaces Basketball Association of Singapore President Koh Koon Teck as the third national sports association representative on the SNOC Executive Committee.

The three officials join Acting President Phua, vice-presidents Juliana Seow, Benedict Tan and Lawrence Leow, International Olympic Committee vice-president Ng Ser Miang, honorary treasurer Lee Wung Yew, co-opted members Alan Goh, Eugenia Lim, Shayna Ng, Lau Kok Keng and Forrest Li, secretary general Chris Chan and assistant secretary general Edmund Lim on the Executive Committee.

Singapore first competed at the Olympic Games at London 1948 and has won five medals in its history, four of which have been since Beijing 2008.
