Reigning Olympic and world champions Ruggero Tita and Caterina Banti of Italy lead the women's Nacra 17 at the Sailing World Championships in The Hague.

Tita and Banti won two of today’s three races to move in front in the standings ahead of Germany’s Paul Kohlhoff and Alica Stuhlemmer and Britain’s John Gimson and Anna Burnet.

Nevin Snow and Mac Agnese of the United States have got off to a strong start, with two wins from three to take the early lead in the men’s 49er.

They are leading Spanish pair Florian Trittel Johannes and Diego Botin Le Chever who also impressed on Dutch waters, while Wang Xin and Qi Tianyu of China sit in third position.

The women's 49er is led by Belgium’s Isaura Maenhaut and Anouk Geurts after placing second twice and finishing first in the final race.

Sweden's Vilma Bobeck and Rebecca Netzler sit in second position, with Australia’s Olivia Price and Evie Haseldine in third.

Japanese duo Keiju Okada and Miho Yoshioka are topping the 470 leaderboard after two races.

Okada and Yoshioka placed first and fourth to take the lead, moving ahead of Chinese sailors Wenju Dong and Jingsa Wang and Xu Jianyong and Tu Yahan.

Para sailing competition is also underway with Poland’s Piotr Cichocki and Betsy Alison leading the respective men’s and women’s Hansa 303 events.

France's Olivier Ducruix and Ange Margaron head the RS Venture Connect leaderboard, while Germany’s Heiko Kröger is in first place in the 2.4 metres event.

More than 1,200 sailors are vying for 107 Paris 2024 quotes on offer at the Sailing World Championships.
