Puerto Rico's Olympic women’s 100 metres hurdles gold medallist Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico beat Nigeria’s world champion and record holder Tobi Amusan at Ostrava’s Golden Spike meeting.

Camacho-Quinn clocked 12.42sec to finish ahead of Tia Jones of the United States, who clocked 12.44, and Amusan, who finished third in 12.47, with the 2019 world champion, Nia Ali of the United States, was fourth in 12.75 at the Městský Stadion in this this World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting.

Elsewhere, there were meeting records for Sweden's Mondo Duplantis, Ethiopia's Diribe Welteji, Slovenia's Kristjan Čeh and America's Ryan Crouser.

Duplantis, Olympic and champion and world record holder in the men’s pole vault,  looked briefly human before resuming his normal infallibility to win with 6.12 metres - the leading mark this season.

Earlier, he had had a rare failure at 5.90m, a height that Australia’s double Commonwealth champion Kurtis Marschall cleared first time for an outdoor personal best.

Normal service was swiftly resumed, however, as the 23-year-old Swede went over at the second attempt before securing victory with a first-time clearance of 6.00m before raising his ambitions.

Marschall finished second on countback ahead of Ernest Obiena of Philippines.

The women’s 1500m was won by Welteji with an inexorable finish in 3min 57.38sec.

World champion Čeh, fresh from setting a Championship record of 69.94m at the European Athletics Team Championships in Chorzów, won with 68.55m.

Crouser, the world and Olympic men’s shot put champion, threw out to a new mark of 22.63m, with New Zealand’s Commonwealth Games gold medallist Tom Walsh second on 22.15m .

Home men’s javelin thrower Jakub Vadlejch, the Olympic silver medallist and world bronze medallist, won on the night with 81.93m.

Saul Ordonez of Spain won the concluding men’s 800m in 1:44.85 from Simone Barontini of Italy inn 1:45.03 and Britons Elliot Giles and Neil Gourley, on 1:45.03 and 1:45.49, respectively.

Zambia’s Commonwealth champion Muzala Samukonga won the men’s 400m in 45.05.

Britain’s Jessie Knight won the women’s 400m hurdles in 54.96.
