Alba Torrens shone for the Spaniards with a stunning 27-point display to propel them to a 69-60 win at the Arena Stožice.

It gives Spain their fourth final appearance in the last six editions of the tournament.

Playing in their first semi-final since 1997, Hungary had trailed by 16 points before rallying to set up an exciting finish but it was too little too late.

At 60-55, Torrens hit a jump-shot with 90 seconds remaining on the clock to make it a three-possession contest and put the game out of sight for the Hungarians.

The 33-year-old small forward converted five of seven three-point shots on her way to being named player of the game.

It was the most triples by a player ever in a semi-final while she also recorded four assists and three rebounds.

"The first thing is that we are very happy to be here tonight in this position," Torrens said.

"The second thing is that I know what brought us here is the team.

"I know what brought us this victory and that is the team and I know that we will be here always as a team.

"I don't see any other way.

"I am so thankful and proud to be part of this team.

"It is not about who made the points, it is about our character.

"When the game got tough, we were all there."

The second semi-final saw Belgium hold off the French to prevail 67-63.

Belgium had put up the better score in both of the first two quarters but a spirited France fought back to almost overturn the deficit as they were clearly the better side in the second half.

Emma Meesseman was the star for Belgium as she notched up 24 points, six rebounds, and five assists in a dominant display.

In addition to the semi-finalists, Germany and Serbia claimed victories to confirm their places in the International Basketball Federation Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments for Paris 2024.

Germany downed Czech Republic 71-69 in an overtime thriller before Serbia got the better of Montenegro 63-58.

Competition is set to continue with both the bronze and gold-medal matches.
