National Olympic Committees from Estonia, Italy, Latvia, and Slovakia have joined Lithuania in the goal of improving female leadership involvement in sports under the New Miracle project.

Training took place at the Gate One hotel in Bratislava this week, where vice-president of the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee (SOŠV) Danka Barteková and development manager of World Yachting Rob Holden introduced topics on how sports organisations function to 41 female managers and project lecturers to teach them more about succeeding in sports management.

Lucia Antolová, a media manager of the Sports Support Fund, was a participant in the training provided in Bratislava and found the meeting useful in her career.

"The New Miracle project is a unique opportunity for women at all levels of sports management," said Antolová, who is of Slovakian descent.

"Whether they hold the position of active volunteers in clubs or participate in the management of a national sports association or other sports institution, establishing international contacts, as well as looking at the functioning of similar structures in other countries, represents a non-transferable experience that we can all benefit from for the benefit of the sports movement in our homelands."

Members of the meeting were provided specific tools and materials that could help accelerate their careers in leadership.

With all the resources at their disposal, New Miracle is hopeful that those females improve the stature of their gender in sports.
