The Peruvian Olympic Committee (COP) staged a significant inter-institutional meeting at their headquarters for the purpose of exchanging knowledge of positions for the Ayacucho 2024 Bolivarian Games.

This meeting saw the first steps in structuring the Organising Committee.

The need for closer coordination between the parties was also noted.

Renzo Manyari Velazco, the President of the COP; led the meeting alongside Máximo Pérez; the President of the Peruvian Sports Institute; Carlos Rua, the Regional Governor of Ayacucho; and Yuri Gutiérrez, the Provincial Mayor of Huamanga.

Jenny Martínez, the secretary general of the COP, and María Martínez, the executive director and chief executive of the COP, also attended the meeting.

Eleven South African countries compete in the Bolivarian Games.

The Colombian city of Valledupar recently staged the most-recent edition of the competition.

Peru last hosted the Bolivarian Games in Trujillo in 2013.
