Job role: Office Manager/Executive Assistant to Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief

Location: We work from modern offices in a prime location in the very heart of Central Milton Keynes (please note this role is office based) 

Job purpose: To ensure the smooth running of the administrative functions of the office and to provide PA/administration support to the Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief

Hours of work: 5 days pw/8 hours per day, excluding 30 min lunch break (core hours are 9.30am – 6.00pm (please note - flexibility is required due to the nature of our business) 

Remuneration: Dependent on experience (salary range £28 - £32k per annum) + regular bonus based on performance and profits, + regular pay reviews

A key role has arisen at Dunsar Media, a busy publishing house, which publishes the world's leading Olympic news website for the global sports movement. Dunsar Media is a Company that has high ambitions, is going places and is already an award-winning organisation. In its field, the brand name is known globally as the world’s leading Olympics news website, covering the politics of the Olympics, Paralympics, Commonwealth Games as well as Continental Games and key championships.

We are a small Company and every member plays a crucial role. Our Company has grown rapidly and we are now looking for an intelligent, energetic and switched-on individual who will enjoy supporting the Managing Director, Editor-in-Chief and a talented team of journalists, working on a range of projects that will help the Company grow as well as make the company more efficient.


Executive support: Primarily, this role is about giving the Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief whatever support is necessary to get the job done. This will include organising meetings and events, arranging travel and accommodation, arranging visa applications, organising accreditations, processing expenses, submitting award entries and attending meetings as a minute taker.

Office Management: Ensure the office runs smoothly and be responsible for all tasks relating to this, such as ordering office supplies, managing COVID protocols, managing multiple email inboxes, managing postliaising with the site management, point of contact for employees with regards to mobile phone and IT issues, management of branded clothing for events, managing 3rd party contract and licences and liaise with the Finance Director and accountants regards Xero and invoice processing 

Human Resources: It is a very small team and HR is outsourced to an external HR consultant. However, you would need to support the day to day HR Administration processes, which include holiday booking process, processing team expenses, onboarding process for new starters and liaising with the finance director and accountants to ensure processing of the monthly payroll.


  • The key to success in this role is self-motivation, a can-do attitude and entrepreneurial spirit. You need to be able to work on your own, plan your day and work in total partnership with the Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief
  • You will need extremely high-quality standards and attention to detail
  • You will likely have previous experience working as an Office Manager/Executive Assistant.
  • You will have excellent written and interpersonal skills - as you will be liaising directly with our clients and presenting our Company in a professional manner
  • You will be a highly confident IT user. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, ideally including its programmes, platforms and intranets, although training could be given to the right candidate
  • A sense of personal accountability to deliver on your commitments is vital. You need to be very willing to roll up your sleeves and get things done. We work very hard at Dunsar Media, and we are often abroad, so you will need to be able to deal with different time zones and be flexible with regards to working hours as needed 
  • You will be calm under pressure, have a good sense of humour and be able to manage conflicting priorities in a fast paced, busy environment
