Future Host Commisison chair Kristin Kloster Aasen says the new process has reportedly led to a Australia spending 80 per cent less than previous candidature budgets.

"This will be confirmed by audited accounts."

"We now have a pool of hosts for the future," Kloster Aasen says.

“The vast majority of interested parties what to remain in contact for 2036, 2040 and even later, thanks for the flexibility of the new approach.”

Kloster Aasen says there has been a venue change with a golf course in Brisbane, rather than Gold Coast.
