Coca_Cola_ParalympicsNovember 12 - Coca-Cola are going to extend their sponsorship of the London 2012 Olympics to the Paralympics, they have announced.

Coke has been associated with the Olympics longer than any other corporate sponsor having been involved since the Amsterdam Games in 1928 and is now a TOP sponsor.

Coca-Cola has also been involved with the Paralympic Movement since Barcelona in 1992, and has focused on driving awareness about the Games to consumers through numerous advertising initiatives.

The company claimed it hoped to use the Paralympics "to inspire more people to get active and help promote sport for all in the lead up to London 2012".

Daryl Jelinek, the general manager of the London 2012 Coca-Cola Project Team, welcomed the announcement.

"We are proud to be extending our sponsorship of London 2012 to the Paralympic Games," he said.

"The Paralympic Games is one of the biggest celebrations in world sport, with over 4,000 athletes competing in hundreds of events over 12 days, and we know from firsthand experience just how inspiring it is in helping to change attitudes to disability.

"We want to be a big part of generating that inspiration and excitement on the road to 2012, using our sponsorship to motivate people across the UK and beyond to get active and to drive awareness of the Paralympics."
