Helen Lundberg has been re-elected President of the International Federation of Sleddog Sports (IFSS).

Lundberg secured a fresh four-year term at the helm of the worldwide body at the IFSS General Assembly, held remotely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Swedish official first assumed the role in 2013 and will be able to serve as President until 2025.

Hernán Maquieira was elected first vice-president of development, while Patrick Wirz was chosen to lead the IFSS Athletes' Commission.

Germany's Rüdiger Bartel has become continental director for Europe, with Laura Hayes taking up the role for North America.

Alex Watkins has been chosen to lead the Oceania region, while Konrad Jakob and Jay Kim were re-elected as continental directors for Latin America and Asia, respectively.

The IFSS said a record number of delegates participated at the virtual General Assembly.

The IFSS has been a Global Association of International Sports Federations member since 1989 - a year after it was founded.
