SnowboardingNovember 13 - Snowboard Cross and Parallel Giant Slalom are among the featured events when the Visa US Snowboardcross Cup returns to Telluride, Colorado, next month.


The sole US stop on the LG FIS World Cup tour, Telluride has attracted top athletes including two-time Olympic gold medallist Seth Wescott, three-time X Games gold medallist Lindsey Jacobellis and six-time X Games gold medallist Nate Holland.

Olympic athlete Graham Watanabe and World Championship bronze medallist Nick Baumgartner are also due to compete.

The 2010 Vancouver Olympic Snowboard Cross course designer Jeff Ihaksi will arrive in Telluride in early December to work with the snowmaking, grooming and terrain park teams to construct and fine tune the venue.

Peter Foley, head coach for US Snowboarding, will also be on hand to offer both his guidance and expertise.

The Parallel Giant Slalom will take place on Upper Misty Maiden, off the Village Express Lift, while Lower Misty Maiden will continue to be the site for the SBX course, finishing right in Mountain Village.

Events begin on December 15, with the men's and women's SBX qualifications on Lower Misty Maiden.

The new SBX Team Event completes the competition on December 18.
