Britain wheelchair_rugby_squadOctober 23 - Wheelchair rugby is coming to Glasgow, with a new club being launched in the city as a hunt for players begins.

On Wednesday (October 26) the Great British 2012 wheelchair rugby squad, who will be competing at the Paralympic Games next year, will join players from Glasgow Warriors to launch the new team.

Wheelchair rugby, described as "a terrifying fusion of ice hockey, handball and rugby", also known as "murderball", is one of the most rapidly growing Paralympic sports.

Four players on any team are on the court at any one time, with rolling substitutes allowed, and a team scores when one of their players rolls across the opposing goal line with the ball in hand.

The event, which will take place at the Kelvin Hall International Sports Arena, will be free of charge and there will be the opportunity to try out the sport.

An exhibition match will also be played, with more information available here at the GB wheelchair rugby website.
