Jasmine_Flatters_November 1 - The former chair of British Triathlon, Jasmine Flatters (pictured), has described her new role as triathlon services manager at London 2012 as "the pinnacle of my career".

Flatters (pictured) will be working closely with triathlon competition manager John Lunt, building on the detailed work already done, providing technical input into the planning and supporting major workstreams for both the 2011 test event and the main Olympic Competition in August 2012.

"I am truly honoured to have been appointed and I can't wait to get started and make my contribution to a memorable Olympic Games in London," she said.

"I'm thrilled that Jasmine has joined the superb sports team here at LOCOG and I know she will play a vital role in delivering a fantastic Olympic triathlon," said Lunt.

The appointment was also welcomed by Sarah Springman, the President of British Triathlon.

"Her experience and skill set is ideally suited, particularly from her innovative management of British Age Group Teams and her extensive technical experience," she said.

Zarah Hyde Peters, chief executive of British Triathlon, said: "This appointment confirms the high value that LOCOG is placing on the National Governing Bodies' most experienced volunteers.

"It will also leave a tremendous legacy to the sport after the Games have been delivered."
