The International Cricket Council (ICC) has given Deepak Agarwal - a team owner at the 2018 T10 Cricket League -  a two-year ban from all cricket for breaching the anti-corruption code.

The ban, six months of which are suspended, came after Agarwal accepted one breach of the anti-corruption code.

Agarwal was charged under article 2.4.7 - "obstructing or delaying an investigation, including concealing, tampering with or destroying any documentation or other information that may be relevant to that investigation and/or that may be evidence of or may lead to the discovery of evidence of corrupt conduct under the ICC anti-corruption code."

If he satisfies the conditions of the suspended part of his ban, Agarwal will be able to resume his involvement in cricket on October 27 2021.

The conditions stipulate that Agarwal must not commit any offence under the anti-corruption code during his suspension, and must fully participate in any anti-corruption education or rehabilitation programmes as specified by the ICC.

"There were a number of examples of Mr Agarwal obstructing and delaying our investigations and it was not just a one off occurrence," said Alex Marshall, ICC integrity general manager.

"However, he made a prompt admission of his breach of the ICC anti-corruption code and continues to provide substantial assistance to the anti-corruption unit in relation to several investigations involving other participants.

"This cooperation is reflected in his sanction."

Agarwal was part-owner of the Sindhis franchise during the 2018 T10 Cricket League in the United Arab Emirates.

The squad included England's World Cup winner Jofra Archer, but finished bottom of the league that year after winning just one of their six games.
