Jennifer Jones of Canada is on track for a record-tying tenth Grand Slam of Curling (GSOC) title after reaching the women's final with her Winnipeg team at the Boost National in Conception Bay South.

Team Jones overcame two losses in the round-robin stage with four consecutive wins, including a 7-5 victory over Team Eve Muirhead in the quarter-finals.

They then recorded a 10-9 extra-end victory over Team Tracy Fleury to reach the gold-medal clash at CBS Arena.

Jones claimed her last GSOC title at the Boost National in 2017, the most in the women’s division at the time.

Ottawa’s Rachel Homan has since surpassed Jones with a 10th title at the start of 2019, but Jones could soon equal that.

"It’s incredible," Jones said.

"We’ve had to really grind out.

"We lost our first two games, just to grind out some wins and we’ve had some really close games.

"It’s fun for sure to be in the final."

Jones and her team are set to take on Team Anna Hasselborg in the final, after the Swedish contingent edged past Japan’s Team Satsuki Fujisawa 5-4 in the semi-final.

Team Brad Jacobs of Ontario will meet Sweden’s Team Niklas Edin in the men’s final.

Jacobs overcame local favourites Team Brad Gushue 5-3, while Edin, fresh from winning his seventh European Championship, defeated Scotland’s Team Bruce Mouat 7-4.

Team Jacobs defeated Team Edin 4-2 at the round-robin stage.

The second major of this season's GSOC concludes tomorrow.
