Chinese Taipei beat Kuwait 8-0 today to make it two wins out of two at the Olympic ice hockey pre-qualification round one event in Sanya in China.
Hsiao Po-Yun scored two of the goals in the Group O clash, while Lu Ping-En, Shen Yen-Chin, Yu Shao-Yang, Chang Wei-Ting and Pao Yi all chipped in with one apiece at the TUS Ice And SnowPark Sanya.
Today's other game in the same section saw Thailand bounce back from their 5-3 defeat against Chinese Taipei yesterday to overcome Hong Kong 7-2.
Both Thailand and Hong Kong have one win each to their name, with the latter having thrashed Kuwait 12-0 yesterday.
The four teams in Group O are aiming for the top position in the single round-robin tournament.
Achieving this would book a place in the second round of qualification for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, alongside the winner of Group N, consisting of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kyrgyzstan, hosts Luxembourg and the United Arab Emirates.
Luxembourg started their campaign with an emphatic 10-1 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Patinoire de Kockelscheuer.
Also making a winning start were Kyrgyzstan, who beat the UAE 9-4.
Tomorrow's final matches in Group O pit Thailand against Kuwait and Hong Kong against Chinese Taipei.
In Group N, the UAE face Bosnia and Herzegovina before Luxembourg meet Kyrgyzstan.
