Ukraine ranked joint 17th with Romania in the medal table for the 2016 Winter YOG in Lillehammer, winning one gold.

Biathlete Khrystyna Dmytrenko sealed her country's solitary medal with victory in the women's pursuit. 

She became Ukraine's first-ever YOG champion both in biathlon and winter sports.

In all, Ukraine had 23 competitors in nine sports.

At Innsbruck 2012, figure skaters Aleksandra Nazarova and Maxim Nikitin combined to win Ukraine's solitary medal - a silver in the ice dancing event.

The nation was represented by 23 athletes in eight sports.
