Switzerland ranked sixth in the medal table for the 2016 Winter YOG in Lillehammer, winning four gold, three silver and four bronze.

Aline Danioth did the women's slalom-Alpine combined double, while fellow Alpine skier Mélanie Meillard topped the women's giant slalom podium.

Danioth won her first-ever global crown at the 2019 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Åre in Sweden, helping Switzerland to victory in the nations team event.

Switzerland's one other winner at Lillehammer 2016 was freestyle skier Talina Gantenbein, in women's ski cross.

In all, Switzerland had 48 competitors in 11 sports.

At Innsbruck 2012, the country finished seventh in the medal table with three gold and five bronze.

Among the trio of gold medallists was Alpine skier Sandro Simonet in the men's slalom.

There were also victories for Switzerland at Innsbruck 2012 through freestyle skier Kai Mahler, in the men's halfpipe, and its mixed curling team.
