The Seychelles Karate Federation (SKF) has been named as the country's "Best Federation 2018" at the Seychelles Sports Awards, prompting praise from World Karate Federation President Antonio Espinós.
The award, which recognises the "excellence" of the Federation and acknowledges their efforts in developing karate in the country, was presented at a ceremony headed by the President of the Seychelles Danny Faure and his vice president Vincent Meriton.
Espinós released a statement in response, congratulating the SKF for their award.
"It shows that regardless of the dimensions of your area of influence or your number of associates, all the members of the WKF contribute greatly to the progress of our sport," he said.
The President of the SKF, Donald Celestine, was also given an award from the President of the Seychelles Olympic Committee Antonio Gopal.
