Top seeds Egypt breezed past Germany 3-0 as they continued their undefeated form at the World Squash Federation Women's World Team Championship in China.

The North African powerhouse already knew that they would be progressing to the quarter finals as group play concluded today at the Xigang Gymnasium in Dalian.

Egypt, who boast a four player squad who are all ranked in the top six, are the defending champions.

World number one and two-time world individual champion Nour El Sherbini got them up and running against Germany as she beat Nele Hatschek 11-7, 11-2, 11-5 in the Group A clash.

Nouran Gohar then hammered Annika Wiese 11-1, 11-2, 11-1 before Raneem El Welily completed the 3-0 whitewash with a 11-6, 11-6, 11-2 win over Saskia Beinhard.

Canada beat Australia 2-1 today to finish second behind Egypt in the group and also reach the last eight.

In Group B, second seeds England had also already booked their place in the next round but topped the pile after a 3-0 win over Finland.

New Zealand beat Japan 2-1 to qualify in second.

Group C saw third seeds United States beat China 3-0 to win the pool, with France seeing off India by the same margin to finish second.

In Group D, fourth seeds Hong Kong defeated South Africa 3-0 to earn top spot, as Malaysia whitewashed Switzerland by the same score to go through as runners-up.

The quarter finals will be played tomorrow.

Egypt are meeting New Zealand with England facing Canada.

The US will lock horns with Hong Kong and France and Malaysia will collide.
