Captain Harry Brook hit a superb match-winning century as England maintained their unbeaten record at the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand today.

England are now guaranteed to progress from Group C after a seven wicket victory over Bangladesh at the John Davies Oval in Queenstown.

Bangladesh, winners in their opening match against Canada, were bowled out with four ball to spare for 175 as Afif Hossain top scored with 63.

This total never looked like being enough, and Brook's unbeaten 102 off just 84 balls ended any lingering Bangladeshi hopes.

Brook is the first England captain to score a century at the Under-19 Cup since future senior-level captain Alastair Cook in 2004.

Euan Woods also hit 48 not out after a strong bowling effort of three for 26.

Canada also won today in Group C against Namibia at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval at Lincoln University in Lincoln.

Namibia were bowled out for 193 in 46 overs, Akash Gill taking four wickets for 43.

Canada lost wickets at the beginning and end of their innings but never really seemed threatened as they reached the total with eight overs to spare.

Arslan Khan top-scored with 72 for the winning side.

Canada will still need to win convincingly against England if they are to reach the quarter-finals and hope Bangladesh improve against Namibia, who are now eliminated.

Three matches are scheduled for tomorrow.

Australia will play Papua New Guinea at Lincoln Green in Group B before India face Zimbabwe in the same group at the Bay Oval on Mount Maunganui.

Pakistan meet Sri Lanka in Group D at the Cobham Oval in Whangarei.
