World Taekwondo Europe (WTE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the World Children Taekwondo Union (World CTU).

The MoU was agreed between WTEPresident Sakis Pragalos and World CTU founder Park Soo-Nam at the WTE headquarters in Rotterdam.

The MoU concerns the European President Cup for Kids, due to take place on February 3 and 4 in Sindelfingen in Germany, and is designed to give young athletes between the ages of nine to 14 the chance to qualify for the European Championships.

Athletes aged nine to 11 in the kyorugi and poomsae categories of the competition, along with athletes aged 12 to 14 in the poosmae category, will qualify for the WTE Multi European Championships, set to take place in Bulgaria next year.

Additionally, 12 to 14-year-old athletes in the kyorugi category will qualify for the 2018 WTE European Cadet Championships.

These innovations are designed to help the new generation of taekwondo athletes adjust to the sport’s procedures and environment, helping them get through the stress of competition.
