Wales' Laura Daniels picked up another two wins to maintain her lead in Section Two of the women's event at the World Bowls Singles Champion of Champions in Sydney.

The 2015 World Indoor gold medallist remains in pole position with a total of 18 points and 64 shots following another commanding performance at the St Johns Park Bowling Club.

She is, however, facing a fierce challenge from Petal Jones of the Norfolk Islands who has the same amount of points following the third day of competition.

Daniels began with a 7-5, 14-3 win over Kenya's Susan Kariuki and followed it with a comprehensive 10-4, 13-4 victory over Niue's Joy Peyroux .

England's Donna Knight kept hold of her slender lead at the summit of Section One despite suffering a 9-8, 7-7 reverse to South Africa's Nici Neal.

Knight won her other match today as she overcame Yukie Kato of Japan 17-1, 8-6 and now has 15 points and 33 shots, with Neal a close second.

Derek Oliver of Scotland remains the leader of Section Two of the men's event with 21 points and 37 shots.

In Section One of the men's event, Wales' David Kingdon remains the bowler to beat after accumulating 21 points and 57 shots.

Qualifying rounds are taking place over the first five days of competition.

The semi-finals are scheduled to be held on Saturday, with the finals on Sunday.

Australia's Scott Thulborn and Natasha Scott were the winners of last year's respective men's and women's events in Brisbane.
