Organisers of the 2017 World Kung-fu Championships in Chinese province Sichuan have unveiled the logo and mascot for the event.

The logo for the Championships, which are scheduled to take place on Mount Emei from November 7 to 11, is a dark green abstract depiction of the Chinese character "山".

This is said to symbolise the jade peak of Mount Emei and a sketch of the Giant Buddha at the nearby Leshan mountain.

The background features a Chinese character "武", which is formed by two figures that resemble wushu athletes.

It is claimed the character presents smooth and dynamic lines, which portrays a feature of the sport of wushu, while conveying the wisdom of Taoism and elegance of Confucianism.
