Olli Ojanaho of Finland and Switzerland's Simona Aebersold continued their emphatic form as they claimed their third gold medals of the 2017 Junior World Orienteering Championships in Tampere today.

The duo followed up their middle distance and sprint victories by prevailing in their respective long distance races in the Finnish city.

Ojanaho continued his unstoppable form in the men's competition as he won in a time of 1 hour 5min 11sec.

The Finn was 43sec faster than Sweden's Simon Imark, who crossed the line in 1:05:54 for silver.

Simon Hector completed a two-three for the Swedes as he clinched third in 1:06:07.

Aebersold dominated the women's event, finishing of three minutes faster than Finland's Veera Klemettinen.

The Swiss posted a time of 56:03 with Klemettinen eventually crossing the line in 59:17.

Switzerland also won bronze through Sofie Bachmann, who finished in 1:02:52.

Team relay events will bring the competition to a close tomorrow.

The junior event follows the Senior World Championships in Estonian city Tartu, where Sweden won four out of a possible nine gold medals.
