The third week of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) World League with the current champions set to clash with the reigning Olympic gold medallists.

Serbia won their first FIVB World League title last year and head to the Orfeo Superdomo in Cordoba, Argentina, to compete in Group G1, with action starting tomorrow and going on until Sunday (June 18).

Waiting for them alongside the Argentinian team and Bulgaira will be Brazil, who won the men’s volleyball gold on home soil at Rio 2016.

Their clash, which will be a repeat of last year’s final, will not come until Saturday (June 17), with Serbia beginning the latest stage of the tournament against the hosts while Brazil meet Bulgaria.

After the first two weeks of the season, France currently top the overall standings.

They will be heading to the Lotto Arena in Antwerp to be part of Group I1 for the latest set of matches.

Also in the group are Belgium, Canada and Italy, who France beat to finish in third place in 2016.

Action from the third week starts today in Group H1 at the Hala Sportowa Spodek in the Polish city of Katowice.

Joining the hosts will be Iran, Russia and the United States.

In the opening matches of the group, the US defeated Iran 25-17, 25-22, 30-28 before the Russians saw off Poland 25-22, 25-17, 25-21.
