Shi Yuqi of China secured his place in the men's singles final of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Swiss Open at the St. Jakobshalle in Münchenstein today.

The tournament's second seed was forced to come from a set down, however, to defeat Tzu Wei Wang of Chinese Taipei.

Tzu took the first set 18-21 before Yuqi, the world number eight, turned the match around to take the second and third games 21-17, 21-15.

He will now meet his compatriot, and the tournament' top seed Lin Dan, in the final.

Dan, the double Olympic champion, comfortably dispatched Anthony Sinisuka Ginting of Indonesia, the tournament's 12th seed, 21-17, 21-17.

There will also be an all Chinese clash in the women's singles final. 

Chen Xiaoxin shocked Fitriani Fitriani of Indonesia, the tournament's seventh seed, 21-17, 21-19 to reach tomorrow's gold medal match.

She will now take on compatriot Chen Yufei, seeded third, after she eased to a 21-13, 21-17 win over Chisato Hoshi of Japan in this evening's semi-final.

Chinese dominance also extended to the men's doubles with Chai Biao and Hong Wei, the top seeds, coming from behind to beat Chen Hung Ling and Chi-Lin Wang of Chinese Taipei 17-21, 21-15, 21-18 to book their place in tomorrow's final.

They will now meet another Chinese pairing, Liu Cheng and Zhang Nan, in the gold medal match.

They claimed a comfortable 21-9, 21-19 straight-games win over Great Britain's Rio 2016 bronze medallists Chris Langridge and Marcus Ellis.

In the women's doubles competition, Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan of China successfully navigated their semi-final against the Danish duo of Maiken Fruergaard and Sara Thygesen 21-12, 21-14.

Their opponents tomorrow will be the Bulgarian sisters Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva.

They defeated the Chinese pairing of Bao Yixin and Yu Xiaohan 22-20, 21-19

In the mixed doubles event the Thai duo of Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai defeated the number one seeds to reach tomorrow's final.

They beat Zheng Siwei and Chen 21-19, 13-21, 21-19 to set up a final with Indonesia's Praveen Jordan and Debby Susanto, who defeated Zhang Nan and Li Yinhui of China 12-21, 21-19, 21-16 today.
