FIFA has published a document outlining the contract of agreed objectives which sets the scene for the implementation of "Forward", the overhauled development programme of world football's governing body.

The publication followed approval being granted by FIFA's Development Committee.

The contract of agreed objectives defines the framework for the use of FIFA’s tailor-made support, including development priorities and objectives of the Member Associations and Confederations.

Conditions for the use of funds and potential sanctions for non‑compliance are also listed.

FIFA’s Member Associations and Confederations will have until June 1 next year to complete their contracts of the agreed objectives.

Through FIFA Forward, the governing body's member associations can access up to $5 million (£4 million/€5 million) per four-year cycle.

The world governing body has also made $750,000 (£595,000/€690,000) available per year for football projects such as pitches, competitions and women’s football, and $500,000 (£396,000/€460,000) per year for running costs in areas, including administration and governance.

Meanwhile, Confederations, who will also have to sign contracts of agreed objectives, are entitled to receive up to $40 million (£32 million/€37 million) every four years.

"By jointly identifying the development priorities and objectives with the Member Associations and Confederations we’ll be able to maximise the impact of our assistance, thus making a qualitative improvement to football in their respective territories," said FIFA secretary general Fatma Samoura.

Earlier this year FIFA’s Development Committee implemented a process that saw the 211 Member Associations of world football’s governing body enjoy an increase in funding from $400,000 (£300,000/€360,000) to $1.25 million (£940,000/€1.1 million) over a four-year period.

Following a meeting of the Development Committee in July, it was announced that all Member Associations and Confederations can now apply for funds under the FIFA Forward programme.
