The logo for next year's International Judo Federation (IJF) World Championships in Budapest has been released.

The emblem includes two judoka in action and features the colours red, green and white - the same as the Hungarian flag.

"While the Rio 2016 Games have just ended on a great success for judo, all eyes are already turning towards the next major events of the World Judo Tour that will lead to the next Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020," an IJF statement said.

"Next year's flagship event will be the 2017 World Championships, to be held in the capital city of Hungary, Budapest."

The dates for the World Championships in Budapest - which is bidding for the 2024 Summer Olympics - have yet to be decided.

World titles will be available in seven men's and seven women's weight divisions, while there will also be two team titles on offer.

The Hungarian capital was chosen ahead of China, Mongolia and Qatar in March 2015.

Budapest has hosted successful events on the IJF Grand Prix circuit and also staged the European Championships in 2013.

The city will be hoping to use the Worlds to showcase its abilities ahead of the International Olympic Committee electing the host of the 2024 Summer Olympics and Paralympics in Lima in September 2017.

Los Angeles, Paris and Rome are also bidding.

Last year's IJF World Championships were held in Kazakhstan's capital Astana.
